How do you make dumplings like Cracker Barrel?
Everytime someone makes chicken & dumplings, the dumplings are biscuits. I want the real dumplings, like you get from Cracker Barrel. Is it possible to purchase dumplings like those, or do you know where I can find a recipe, perhaps online?
I forgot to ask: how do I get the soup thick like they do?
I don't know about there's,but heres mine.Its not biscuits either.I pour one can of cream of chicken soup,in a bowl.One egg-.Enough flour and one level tablespoon of baking powder.to make a stiff dough. then roll out,as thin as you can.Slice in strips,and you can freeze these,use when ready.They are oh sooo good. I place on wax paper,making layers,dust with flour.This makes them thick while cooking them.Always stir with a fork,very carefully.When ready to use,take them out of freezer,break them up into your pot of bioiling broth.Enjoy!!! I got this from working many years ago,in a restaurant.Don't even remember the name.
