is it normal for a me to give a wedding shower for my sister?
She has 10 bridesmaids and we are exactly four months before the wedding and nobody has stepped up to the plate to give a shower. I am the maid of honor. I would not be so concerned if everyone's calendar is filling up (it is fall now and football season). I am already giving her bachelorette party but I dont want her to not have a wedding shower. What do you think? I was going to wait until two months before the wedding and if nobody steps up to do it I think I am going to.
the sad thing is she (and my mother) have given several parties/showers for her friends who are her bridesmaids.
I think it is traditional for the maid of honour to host the shower, although it is also quite common for the bridesmaids to help out as well. If you take the initiative to start planning, you can ask the other bridesmaids for help in planning, organizing, running errands, and paying for the shower.
